NETS

Survey Services

Survey is foundational to the success and longevity of any infrastructure project. From feasibility studies to final as-builts, our survey team delivers precise, GIS-informed data that supports engineering, design and compliance objectives.

Some of the most critical records for pipeline integrity and regulatory compliance originate from the survey effort — helping ensure teams know exactly what’s on site and in the ground.

Through a network of Professional Land Surveyors (PLS), technical specialists and survey technicians, NEFS delivers:

  • Deep industry expertise
  • Proven field experience
  • The latest in surveying technology, tools and methods

In-Line Inspection (ILI) Integrity Support Services

AGM Survey and Documentation
NETS will provide precise Above Ground Marker (AGM) surveys using high-accuracy GPS equipment and thorough quality control. Our two-person crews use Trimble’s state of the art survey grade equipment to capture and mark key locations—including valves and AGMs—with detailed reports, maps, photos, and GIS-ready data to meet your specifications.

Pig Tracking
AGM and valve survey data go through thorough QA/QC to form the foundation for accurate pig tracking. NETS equips tracking crews with detailed site info including maps, photos, and directions to ensure precise AGM box placement. Using state of the art ELF/Mag receivers and geophones, NETS will monitor the movement of inline inspection tools (pigs) throughout the pipeline system.

Anomaly Dig Staking
Once final anomaly reports are received post-ILI, NETS dispatches a survey crew to locate and stake proposed excavation sites. During digs, the team documents the process with photos, site measurements, and GPS data. As-built drawings and pipeline profiling can also be provided upon request to support detailed project documentation and compliance needs.

Deliverables & Reporting Timeline
All AGM Survey, Pig Tracking, and Dig Staking reports are delivered promptly after undergoing meticulous QA/QC by our dedicated support team—ensuring accuracy, clarity, and readiness for your next project phase.

NDE/Integrity Services

NEFS provides Conventional Nondestructive Examination (NDE) to support in-service inspections across the midstream and downstream sectors during routine maintenance.

Our program follows ASNT SNT-TC-1A guidelines — the industry benchmark for personnel qualification in NDE — and aligns with relevant API and ASME codes and standards.

This service addresses failure risks identified by PHMSA, including:

  • External & Internal Corrosion
  • Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC)
  • Selective Seam Corrosion (SSC)
  • Material & Weld Failure

By integrating our certified NDE personnel and standardized practices, we help clients extend asset life and achieve cost-saving results.

Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)

Certified MT Technicians inspect ferrous materials using contour yoke techniques with wet or dry particles.

Use When:
Locating surface discontinuities such as: External Corrosion, Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC), Selective Seam Corrosion (SSC), Weld defects

Penetrant Testing (PT)

Certified PT Technicians use Type II visible penetrants with Method A (Water Washable) or Method C (Solvent Removable) on non-ferrous materials.

Use When:
Identifying surface flaws such as:
External Corrosion, SCC, SSC
Weld defects

Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT)

Certified UTT Technicians perform thickness measurements using numerical readouts and A-Scan. using contour yoke techniques with wet or dry particles.

Use When:
Verifying remaining wall thickness, Locating subsurface laminations, Evaluating corrosion or mechanical, damage on pipelines
